When Rebecca was just eight years old, her parents took her to see 42nd Street on Broadway, and she was in love. She left the theater singing and dancing through mid-town Manhattan! Since that moment Rebecca has been addicted to the art of the performance and the joy it brings to others.
She attended the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, where there was a stand-alone theater building. She spent as much time in this space as time would allow. Inspired by her environment, she wrote a play called “Radiators”, a rhythmic piece where the actors performed sounds in lieu of words, mimicking the orchestral sounds produced by the heating system at the Baldwin School. It was attention getting.
During her senior year of high school, Rebecca landed an internship at the renowned “People’s Light and Theater Company” in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She worked in costumes as a seamstress and landed a small part in the show “Harvey”. As she was only 15 at the time, her parents spent most of their time endlessly driving her from school to the theater and back, many miles from her home in Chestnut Hill.
Rebecca honed her skills during her college years, attending the University of Southern California, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, School of Drama with an emphasis in acting and directing. At first she felt she would like to be an actress but after directing several shows at USC, she caught the bug.
Rebecca has landed exactly where she was meant to be, finding herself in the niche world of directing live audience multi-camera television shows. And while she has directed many other formats of television, sit-coms are her cup of tea.
